PARADISE ISLAND, The Bahamas – A new era of tourism and local partnership was ushered in on Paradise Island as Royal Caribbean International and the Government of The Bahamas hosted the official ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Royal Beach Club Paradise Island last December 13th.
The event, which precedes the club’s public opening on December 23, 2025, marks the completion of a visionary project designed to merge world-class leisure with authentic Bahamian culture. The 17-acre destination is the first of the Royal Beach Club collection, setting a new global standard for public-private collaboration in tourism.
“This project is a shining example of what is possible when global brands and local communities work together,” said Philip Davis, Prime Minister of The Bahamas. “The Royal Beach Club is not just a destination; it is a partnership that creates sustainable economic growth and showcases the unparalleled beauty of our islands to the world.”
Located on the western end of Paradise Island, the beach club offers a curated day experience for Royal Caribbean guests, featuring three pristine pools, swim-up bars, private cabanas, and direct access to the island’s famous turquoise waters. Central to the project’s ethos is its commitment to Bahamian ownership and culture; 49% of the equity in the Royal Beach Club is held by Bahamians, ensuring that the economic benefits of the development remain deeply rooted in the local economy.
The destination was designed in collaboration with local architects and artisans to reflect the vibrancy of The Bahamas. Guests will experience local flavors through dining concepts helmed by Bahamian chefs, enjoy live music from local artists, and explore retail spaces featuring goods made by Bahamian entrepreneurs.
Michael Bayley, President and CEO of Royal Caribbean International, highlighted the strategic importance of the project. “Paradise Island is one of the most iconic destinations in the world. With the Royal Beach Club, we are elevating the guest experience while honoring the spirit and heritage of this incredible country. It is a celebration of everything that makes The Bahamas unique.”
The opening of the Royal Beach Club adds another layer of prestige to Paradise Island, already home to the world-renowned Atlantis Resort and the ultra-luxury Ocean Club. The development is expected to drive significant visitor traffic, further solidifying Nassau and Paradise Island as the premier destination in the Caribbean region.
