Atlantis Unveils Plans for $10M School on Paradise Island

A new educational development is set to enhance Paradise Island’s appeal for families and investors.

Nassau, The Bahamas – October 1, 2025 – Atlantis has announced plans to construct a $10 million, 61,000-square-foot school on Paradise Island. The proposed facility will accommodate 150 students and is expected to create 50–100 construction and permanent jobs. The school will occupy only a portion of the 23-acre Flamingo Lake site, with the remainder set aside as a nature preserve featuring walking trails.

The development is expected to further stimulate Paradise Island’s real estate market, driving demand for family-oriented residences and long-term ownership.

“The school project just adds to, and feeds into, the renaissance that is happening with Paradise Island,” said Ryan Knowles, Founder and CEO of MAISON Bahamas.

“Recently, we’ve seen Paradise Island coming back. The Four Seasons Ocean Club Residences have begun construction, and Hurricane Hole has been completely redeveloped with amenities that make living on Paradise Island much more comfortable and convenient. Not having to go over the bridge for daily necessities is a huge value add,” Knowles added.

“Now, with a school component and a son who has just turned three, I will soon have an option to send him to school on Paradise Island. It just elevates Ocean Club Estates and Paradise Island as a whole, putting it back on the same level as Lyford Cay and Albany. Families will have a place to send their kids close by,” Knowles said.

“Even in Miami, luxury growth has been limited by over-capacity schools. This project will ease the transition to full-time living for families and buyers for whom education is a top priority. It’s fantastic news for anyone living on Paradise Island or looking to buy there,” Knowles continued.

Others were equally enthusiastic about the project. Khaalis Rolle, President at Sterling Global Advisory Services, the Hurricane Hole developer, said: “I think it completes the community to be honest with you. A lot of people that live on Paradise Island, or are looking for residential property on Paradise Island, some of them are concerned about the lack of schools in the immediate area. I think it’s a great addition to Paradise Island. Definitely. That would be an amazing amenity. If you look at everything on Paradise Island now, and things that are missing, that completes the ‘live, work and play’ concept we first talked about when we started our development. The school completes what’s missing. I think it adds significant value.”

The school is designed to provide a critical amenity for Paradise Island residents, supporting both the local community and the island’s long-term growth.
